Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Ecstasy cruise ship suffered mechanical problems during its maiden voyage from Mobile, Alabama. The ship had sailed as part of its restart of operations in that US port complex since the pandemic stopped the programs.

As a result of the situation, the captain of the cruise ship informed the passengers that the ship would return to Alabama.
Customers can now book six- and eight-day trips online. The shortest route takes travelers from Mobile to Cozumel and then to the Caribbean island of Roatán, Honduras, before sailing back to Mobile.
The 8-day voyage begins in Mobile and calls at the island of Roatán, Belize; and Costa Maya, Cozumel. There is also an 8-day option that takes passengers to Bimini, Freeport, Half Moon Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas.
The ship, according to Marine Traffic, is already heading to its next port, which is the island of Cozumel in Mexico.
