Crew Center was informed that the Bravo code was issued on the Jewel of the Seas at this time. The ship is now crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Miami where it is expected to arrive on November 14. The ship is in the middle of the Atlantic, which is the worst place to have an emergency.
Crew Center said all crew members were heading to I-95 with life jackets and the atmosphere was tense. There was an overflow of water on Deck 1 in the forward part of the vessel causing a chemical reaction followed by heavy smoke.
The port launch team were called to the emergency stations to be ready for the launching of the lifeboats. The launch team has been called to lifeboat 14, and everyone is on standby, the crew member said.
