Evrima: The Ritz Carlton yacht delayed again

June 25, 2022

Catania – As happened in recent weeks to a group of cruise passengers embarked on the MSC Grandiosa , a passenger on the AIDABlu ship was left ashore in Catania for breaking the strict anti-contagion protocol of the German company. The captain informed the crew and cruise passengers of what was happening, and recalled that the decision “was adopted in the exclusive interest of those on board the ship”.

As is known, the protocols in force after the resumption of cruises strictly forbid the guests of the ships to venture into do-it-yourself excursions. The reason is so simple that it does not need to be illustrated, but obviously not for everyone.

AIDA also released a note to explain what happened in Sicily. “During an AIDA-led shore excursion in Catania (Italy) on Tuesday 20 October 2020, an AIDAblu guest left his travel group breaking the applicable rules of conduct for protection against Covid-19. The health and safety of all AIDAblu guests and crew members have top priority.

Therefore, the guest was prohibited from traveling further aboard AIDAblu. AIDA Cruises will support the guest in organizing the return trip. Our protocol states that at the moment no individual shore excursions are possible for either our guests or crew members. In this way, the company guarantees that all necessary preventive measures are also observed on the ground. All guests are advised of this not only before the trip, but also before their shore excursion ”.
