Virgin Voyages has announced that it will sail from Portsmouth, England, starting next August with a limited series of trips, called the “Summer Soiree Series”.
The program will include six departures available for adults only residing in England who have a vaccination passport. The offer includes trips for two, three and four nights.
“Virgin Voyages was looking forward to sailing and we are very excited to announce our plans to depart from the UK,” said Virgin Group founder Richard Branson. “Our team has planned a fantastic experience for our sailors – this is a vacation they will love.”
The “Summer Soiree Series” includes:
Itinerary 1 – Long Weekender (three nights, Friday – Monday)
August 6 – August 9
August 13 – August 16
August 20 – August 23
Itinerary 2 – Summer WeekDaze (four nights, Monday – Friday)
August 9 – August 13
August 16 – August 20
August 23 – August 27
“After more than a year of waiting, we are thrilled to announce these new departures and bring sailors aboard to experience the Virgin Way,” said Tom McAlpin, CEO and president of Virgin Voyages.
We see our summer trips to the UK as a homecoming to pay homage to our British roots and an excellent way to kick off our season before returning to PortMiami.
As part of the Summer Soiree Series, guests will be offered a first taste of sailing on Scarlet Lady, which includes top-notch dining experiences, luxury spa treatments, unlimited fitness classes, British entertainment and an adults-only sailing experience.
The cruise company said that as operations in the United States remain uncertain, before returning home to PortMiami, Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady is taking the opportunity of this made-in-England tour.
At this time, only residents of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be able to sail the Summer Soirée Series – with guests over the age of 18 vaccinated against COVID-19. The Summer Soirée series will go on sale on April 13.
