Virgin Voyages to launch Scarlet Lady after several delays
Virgin Voyages is welcoming passengers aboard the Scarlet Lady’s maiden voyage, which has been waiting weeks in Portsmouth Port to sail.
Debuting with her Summer Soirée series, she will make six UK trips around the English Channel.
Scarlet Lady is offering a relaxed voyage, no dress code required
According to what the company points out, in the new service there is no rule book, set menus or strict dress codes, but there is food in more than 20 restaurants run by a group of Michelin-starred chefs , including the only Korean barbecue ( take a look at the menu here ) at sea and freshly homemade pasta.
The company makes available Shake for Champagne, exclusive to the Virgin Voyages Sailor application , which with a movement of the phone orders a bottle of champagne anywhere on the ship. It also has a spa inspired by an underwater cave, a mud room and a salt therapy chamber.
Tom McAlpin, President and CEO of Virgin Voyages, stated that “With our extensive food and beverage options, a beautiful spa, incredible equipment and a festival-style line of inflight entertainment, Scarlet Lady challenges the status quo in every way. Not only are we committed to helping our ‘sailors’ create the most memorable vacations, we want to provide the safest travel experience possible without compromising the fun we all deserve. “
The first of four Virgin Voyages ships has 1,330 cabins and 78 RockStar rooms, with 86% of the cabins having a balcony and 93% overlooking the ocean.
Following her limited stint in the UK, Scarlet Lady will be heading to her home port in Miami with itineraries to the Caribbean. The company will welcome its second Lady Ship, Valiant Lady, to Portsmouth in 2022.
