Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, receives the Vidanta Elegant, first Mexican luxury cruise ship

Focused on the luxury segment thanks to its distinguished design and the sophisticated services it will offer, the Vidanta Elegant cruise ship arrived in Puerto Vallarta to prepare its final details before tentatively beginning operations on January 19, 2021 bound for the Port of Mazatlán.


With 152.2 meters in length, this ship will have a Home Port in this important city and will be carrying out the Puerto Vallarta-Mazatlán-Puerto Vallarta cabotage route, this being very important news for the entire tourist industry of the friendliest city in the world, as which also sets a standard for the restart of offshore travel in the Mexican Pacific.


Vidanta Elegant will have a capacity for 298 passengers, who will be able to enjoy 149 cabins and suites with ocean views, distributed over six decks. In addition, each cabin will have a concierge service, to offer 100% personalized attention.


The ship will be exclusively for adults and will be focused on offering experiences immersed in luxury and pleasure, so it will be equipped with 12 elegant specialty restaurants, designed to satisfy the most demanding palates, as well as bars, spa, comprehensive gym, entertainment shows nightlife, boutiques and a swimming pool on the upper deck that will provide travelers with spaces full of comfort and exclusivity.

The cruise ship arrived last Saturday night without passengers on board and with 124 crew members of different nationalities for its operation. While the final touches are being carried out to start operations soon, the vessel will be docked at Pier 2 of the Port, where the main port services will also be provided and will carry out the embarkation of crew members to complete its workforce of collaborators.


During the arrival and as part of the protocols that are carried out in the ports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public servants from International Health, Migration, Customs and SENASICA (National Service of Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality) were present, who carried out the “Free Talk”  to verify the health of the crew, issue the corresponding certificates and authorizations, as well as guarantee the safety of the cruise ship and the maritime-port community.


Puerto Vallarta takes firm steps in the economic and tourist reactivation, strictly complying with the health protocols implemented by the state and recognized internationally. Thanks to high-impact projects such as Vidanta Elegant, the confidence of visitors grows even more to return to the green pearl of the Mexican Pacific and enjoy its paradisiacal beaches, the beauty of its architecture, the essence of its nature and the great hospitality that presides over it.
