P&O Cruises’ second Excel-class ship, powered by liquefied natural gas, will join the fleet in December 2022. Arvia, which means “from the seashore,” will be Iona’s sister ship and its design will celebrate the stunning views of the ocean and the seashore.
P&O Cruises President Paul Ludlow said: “Arvia will join Iona as an innovative and forward-thinking ship offering extraordinary, varied and contemporary vacations. And added. “Arvia has been designed to travel in the sun year-round and to maximize views of the ocean and seashore from anywhere on board, which is why I found it a very appropriate name and one that will reflect the experience for passengers to board”.
The seashore is known for its relaxing properties and tranquility, and a vacation at the Arvia will have relaxation as its central axis. The rejuvenating and restorative qualities of a stroll on the beach and the invigorating sea air will be reflected in the experiences both on board and on land, as well as in the ample space on board that has allowed us to include a number of extraordinary new features. ”
The name of the ship, with a capacity for 5,200 passengers and 184,700 tons, was revealed through a video with images from different places, all of them related to the beach and the seashore.
