Orlando Ashford, Former HAL Chairman, Named Azamara CEO

Azamara signs the former president of Holland America Line

Azamara Club Cruises continues to surprise everyone with continuous communications and news .

A few weeks ago its sale was announced by the Royal Caribbean Group , and the purchase of the Pacific Princess as its fourth ship, today it has returned to fill the headlines revealing its management team.

The new owner of the shipping company Azamara, Sycamore Partners continues to reveal more details to further boost its cruises and differential offer.

Today he just announced that Orlando Ashford has been named incoming CEO of Azamara.

Recall that Ashford led the shipping company, part of Carnival Corporation, Holland America Line for nearly five and a half years, driving a rejuvenation of the brand through an emphasis on entertainment, live music and culinary experiences.

Ashford’s appointment will take effect upon completion of Sycamore’s acquisition of Azamara, something that is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2021, as confirmed by the company itself.

Stefan Kaluzny , Managing Director of Sycamore Partners commented when announcing the new appointment,

“ We are very pleased that Orlando is assuming this position as Azamara embarks on its next chapter with the support of Sycamore Partners. ”

“ Orlando brings significant leadership experience as well as specific knowledge in the travel and cruise industry, making it a suitable person to serve as CEO of Azamara “.

For his part, Orlando Ashford indicated ,

“ I am delighted to have been appointed CEO at this exciting time for Azamara, which I have long admired for their product and brand. ”

“ I believe Azamara is uniquely positioned in the industry and I look forward to executing our shared vision of growth. . Together with the Azamara team, we will focus on offering Azamara’s loyal customers more of what they have come to know and love . “
