Odyssey of the Seas has ended its sea trials
The brand new Odyssey of the Seas, which was led across the Ems on the last weekend in February, has now completed its seatrials and has returned to Bremerhaven. The cruise ship has been on the North Sea since March 14, 2021, and all technical and nautical tests were carried out there.
Smaller work on board is now to be completed in Bremerhaven; delivery is expected at the end of March / beginning of April. The cruise ship is scheduled to start operating as early as May 2021. Royal Caribbean International has planned that Odyssey of the Seas will cruise from / to Israel for vaccinated Israelis.
In the original plan, the Quantum class cruise ship should have been in service for a long time, and Meyer Werft Papenburg wanted to deliver the ship in autumn 2020. But the corona pandemic also resulted in a significant shift. Royal Caribbean would probably not have been able to use the ship over the winter anyway.
Only Quantum of the Seas is currently in service for Royal Caribbean, it cruises from / to Singapore for locals. Odyssey of the Seas will be the second ship in the fleet to return to service. In June Adventure of the Seas and Vision of the Seas will follow with new cruises from / to Nassau.
