Zero Tolerance to violations of Covid-19 regulations, announced Edmund Barlett.
The Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, Edmund Barlett , announced that there will be “zero tolerance” to violations of Covid-19 protocol after restarting cruise activity was paralyzed for 17 months because of the pandemic.
“Thousands of Jamaicans depend on this industry for their livelihoods, but I want to inform the public that all cruise calls are managed in accordance with strict Covid-19 health and safety protocols that are governed by global standards and best practices to ensure safety and protection of our citizens and visitors, ”said Minister Barlett.
In Jamaica, passenger ships are being managed in line with the Conditional Navigation Order for simulated and restricted voyages promulgated by the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC).
The authority confirmed that all workers must be vaccinated and added that the health of those who disembark will also be taken care of, since no cruise passengers will be able to go to any attraction that is not certified according to the entertainment license requirements of the local government.
