Rotterdam, Holland America’s new cruise ship arrives to Fort Lauderdale for inaugural season.
With its arrival in Fort Lauderdale from Amsterdam, the Rotterdam cruise completed its first trip to face, now, its inaugural season that will take place until April 2022.
The Holland America Line company plans for the new Pinnacle class ship to travel to the Caribbean, especially the Bahamas, where it has the private island of Half Moon Cay.
Rotterdam is the line’s second cruise ship to return to Florida and Caribbean voyages through Port Everglades after 20 months since the industry’s hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ship joined the Nieuw Amsterdam with a departure from Fort Lauderdale on October 23.
“We have been waiting for our return to the Caribbean for a long time. Rotterdam and our other ships have restarted operations out of Fort Lauderdale at an incredible time for our company. Rotterdam’s maiden voyage from Europe was a great success and we are receiving a lot of positive feedback from guests about the ship, ”said Holland America Line President Gus Antorcha.
Rotterdam’s Caribbean season will run through April with all its roundtrip departures from Fort Lauderdale. The trips will last from six to 11 days.
