Cozumel Seeks to Become Home Port to Restart Cruise Trips

The Cozumel authorities, hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism, propose that Cozumel be Home Port, to resume cruise trips, this after it was announced that at least in the first quarter of the year no cruises would set sail from the United States.

Pedro Joaquín Delbouis, Mayor of the island, announced that there is a proposal in which they would be working with MSC who already launched cruises in the Mediterranean and years ago had a route through the Caribbean without going the United States, leaving from Cuba, Cozumel and even Progreso Yucatán.

MSC has already successfully launched cruises after the critical part of the pandemic, so that cruises can leave from the Island of Swallows and thus resume the industry.
